The fate of the working parent

I love these two.

For most families at least one parent has to work, god we're lucky if it's only one parent. I think sometimes I take it for granted that I get to stay home & enjoy my time with Isobel because man is she growing up! Gareth really struggles with the fact that he only gets about an hour or two with Isobel each day. Today we didn't get home until 5.30pm & then it was time to shower/bath & put bubs to bed around 7. Where does that leave any time for Dad to bond? It just makes our days together that much more important & special. We have a bit of a rule in our house; Sunday is our day. We don't make plans with any one, no body comes to visit. It's just us.
So next time you're thinking about moaning about having to look after a grumpy baby all day or being lonely etc, think of all the working parents out there who would kill to hang out with their kids all day.

  1. I love this post. I needed reminding of how grateful I am of being about to stay at home with Eva : )
